Greenlaw “Gathering of the Clan” in 2008

The Board of Directors of the Greenlaw Family Association has announced the next assembly of Greenlaws will take place in July of 2008 in Fredericton, New Brunswick.  This Greenlaw “Gathering of the Clan,” as it is being called, will take place amidst the skirl of the pipes and the Kirkin o’the Tartan in conjunction with the 27th Annual New Brunswick Highland Games and Scottish Festival on the grounds of Old Government House in Fredericton.  For detailed information about these exciting games, go online to www.highlandgames.ca.   This will be five days of fun, family gathering, dinners, celebration of our Scottish roots, and educational opportunities.  (Tentative dates are Wednesday, July 23, through Sunday, July 27, 2008, depending on confirmation of the final date selection by the New Brunswick Highland Games.)  In anticipation of the Greenlaw Family’s gathering, the New Brunswick Highland Games Planning Committee has already designated our clan, the Home/Hume Clan, to be the honored clan for their 27th Annual Games.

Detailed information will appear here as the program develops.

When planning your trip to Fredericton for the "Gathering of the Clan" think about visiting Bayside, New Brunswick, where the Greenlaws settled after leaving Deer Isle.  It is located just north of the beautiful and historic town of St. Andrews.  Another great family place is Kings Landing Settlement, about twenty minutes west of Fredericton.  It is a depcition of an early Loyalsist settlement.  (See www.kingslanding.nb.ca.)
