The Greenlaw Family Association was founded in 2004 as a result of ongoing interest evolving out of the bisesquicentennial celebrations held in Brunswick, Maine, in August of 2003, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the arrival of William and Jane Greenlaw and their children in America in 1753 after having left their native Scotland.

News and Calendars

The Greenlaw Family Association will be present at two Scottish Festivals in 2010: The New Brunswick Highland Games and the Maine Highland Games. In each case, there will be a tent located in the Clan area with information about the Greenlaw family, the Greenlaw Family Association and the American Greenlaw Tartan material.

These two festivals are wonderful celebrations of Scottish and Celtic culture. Both of them will have first rate bagpipe music and competitions, Scottish foods, Scottish heavy games, traditional dancing and traditional Celtic music.

We encourage you to attend either or both of these events and to stop by and visit us!

NEW BRUNSWICK HIGHLAND GAMES

The New Brunswick Highland Games will be held July 23-25th 2010 on the grounds of Government House, 51 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, NB. These games are described in their materials as follows:

Watch the strength of the Scottish Athletics, admire the Highland Dance competitions and enjoy Celtic Music. Don’t miss our Friday night concert!

Explore Scottish history along the Avenue of the Clans, sample haggis, and browse wares from Celtic Vendors. Join a Workshop and learn how to play the bagpipes, speak Gaelic, or sample whiskey. There’s fun for everyone including mini-golf in the Kids Corner.
